Step by Step:
We only support the Bixolon Pole Display (BCD-1100), and this pole display is not supported in version 6.5 or above.
- If you connect into a Terminal Server to run the Evosus software from your POS computer, you will need to adjust your Remote Desktop Connection program to bring the ports used by the pole display into your session.
To do this:
Step 1: Open your Remote Desktop Connection window
Step 2: Select the Local Resources tab at the top
Step 3: Click the More button at the bottom
Step 4: Check the Ports box and click OK. This will bring you back to the Main RDC Window.
Step 5: Click back to the General tab
Step 6: Click the Save button so it will retain these changes.
Step 1: Place the Bixolon driver disk in your computer
Step 2: Close the AutoPlay window that automatically opens
Step 3: This pole display has a red power switch underneath the top part of the display. Check to make sure the power switch is in the OFF position (O)
Step 4: Connect the pole display’s USB cable to a USB port on your Point of Sale computer.
Step 5: Switch the pole display’s power switch to the ON position (-).
Step 6: Open the Device Manager by right clicking on Computer and choosing Properties. Choose Device Manager in the upper left
Step 7: In the Device Manager you will have a USB device that does not have a driver loaded
Step 8: Right click on this device and choose Update Driver Software
Step 9: At the screen below, choose Browse My Computer for Driver Software
Step 10: Click on the Browse button and navigate to the BCD1100\Windows Driver\VirtualCOM Driver folder on the Bixolon driver disk
Step 11: Click OK
Step 12: Click Next
Step 13: At the Windows Security warning window choose Install this drivers software anyway.
Step 14: Click Close
Step 15: There is still a Unknown USB device listed in your Device Manager. To load the driver for this item, repeat the process you just went through starting at step 8.
Step 16: After both of these devices have had their drivers loaded, your Device Manager should now show the BCD-1100 device
Step 17: Right click on the BCD-1100 device and choose properties
Step 18: Choose the Port Settings tab
Step 19: Click on the Advanced button
Step 20: The COM number at the top may be different than the one shown here – that’s fine. You will want to make a note of the COM port number that your computer is using
Step 21: Check the Serial Enumerator and the Serial Printer check boxes and click OK
Step 22: Click OK again and close the Device Manager.
The Pole Display is now installed.
How to turn the Pole Display ON in the Evosus software
Step 1: On the computer that the Pole Display is installed on, log into the Evosus software with an Administrative account
Step 2: Go to the Administration tab and choose System > Stores > Cash Drawers
Step 3: Double click on the cash drawer used at this POS station
Step 4: Check the ‘Has Pole Display’ box and set it to the correct COM port number for this computer.
Step 5: Click on the Test button
Step 6: On the pole display you will see Test Success! $25.99
